I couldn't agree more with his sentiments. When I lived in London there was a political backlash against the junk mail problem and there would be signs on people's doors asking their postal carrier to not leave any junk. It's a shame that the USPS has been bastardized in the same way, working only to deliver coupon packets that everyone throws away, consuming millions of gallons of gas and man hours in the process. An astonishing fact from his article is that the USPS employs 800,000 people, second only to the Defense Department and Wal-Mart. While I appreciate the low price mail service, there has to be a way to overhaul this system to eliminate the bloated waste that has been rendered redundant due to the internet. Obama, here's a place to save money.
