Arts Festival 09

We went to the Utah Arts Festival on Friday night. There was a sudden and insane rainstorm that passed over, so everyone hid in the City & County Building to ride it out. It was a fun (wet) evening. After we looked at the art we saw Oh! Wild Birds perform. They were pretty rockin! Here’s some pics I took with my phone of the excitement.

Saturday’s Voyeur 2009

2009-06-19 21.08.20

On Friday we went to the Salt Lake Acting Company’s annual production of Saturday’s Voyeur. As always, this year’s performance was a great mocking of everything that had happened in Utah over the last 12 months. From Celestialis (4 Hour Hardon!) to Choose The Right Wipes (Keeping missionaries straight for over 10 years) it was great fun. The play centered around a family in Lehi known as the Freebies and their collapsing MLM empire.

I took a few pictures before the show began of me frantically trying to get a bottle corker from another patron. I mistakenly thought that both of the bottles I bought were screw tops. Luckily I was able to find someone willing to share and was able to get the cork out right as they brought down the lights.

This year’s run of Voyeur runs till August 16th and is a great way to spend a night.

Saved by the Blog

A story of a man who was saved by a reader of his blog from a scamming woman.

“She’s not the person she claims to be” sounds more like a line of dialogue from a Hollywood thriller, not real life. In spite of my incredulity, I couldn’t write it off as some kind of prank. Whoever wrote the letter knew too many details about New Girl to just be some random person playing a joke. Was this person telling the truth, or was this someone with a personal vendetta against New Girl?
